IND vs AUS 3rd Test, Day 5: Siraj strikes as Head falls, Australia lose six wickets

India tightened its grip on Day 5 of the third Test as Mohammed Siraj dismissed Travis Head for 17 runs. Australia, in their second innings, have struggled to build momentum, with India’s pace attack continuing their dominance.

Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah claimed two quick wickets to further his record as the highest Indian wicket-taker in Australia in Tests, while Akash Deep supported with two crucial scalps.

India had earlier avoided the follow-on thanks to KL Rahul’s gritty 84 and Ravindra Jadeja’s 77-run knock. A resilient last-wicket stand between Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep ensured India reached a total of 260, trailing by 185 runs before stumps on Day 4 at the Gabba.

With Australia reeling and their batting lineup under pressure, India has positioned itself strongly, eyeing a potential draw in the rain-marred Test match.
