IND vs SL: T Dilip, Ryan Ten Doeschate, Abhishek Nayar to join Gautam Gambhir as coaching staff

The Indian cricket team’s support staff for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka remains uncertain, with no official announcement from the BCCI yet. Gautam Gambhir has been confirmed as the new head coach, but the rest of the coaching lineup is still being finalized.
Reports suggest that Abhishek Nayar, a former India international, is expected to join the team as an assistant coach. While his appointment has not been officially announced, Cricbuzz indicates that he will be part of the support staff traveling to Sri Lanka.
T Dilip, who served as the fielding coach under Rahul Dravid, has been retained in his role. Additionally, Ryan Ten Doeschate is set to be included as an assistant coach. There is also speculation about the potential appointment of South African Morne Morkel as the bowling coach, but this has not been confirmed yet.
Gambhir has previously worked with Nayar, Ten Doeschate, and Morkel in various capacities, which could explain their inclusion. Ten Doeschate is currently involved with the Major League Cricket (MLC) and will join the Indian team directly in Sri Lanka.
The Indian squad, led by Suryakumar Yadav, is scheduled to depart for Colombo on July 22. Before the team’s departure, a press conference will be held in Mumbai to formally introduce Gambhir as the new head coach. BCCI secretary Jay Shah will join the team in Colombo.
