List of all dismissals by “quick-bowler” Virat Kohli

A true Virat will always remember these lines –

“Virat Kohli, captain, right hand middle order batsman, right-hand quick bowler and my favourite cricketer is Gibbs”

While Virat is widely known for his batting prowess, what caught an eye was the “quick” bowling by the legendary batter Virat.

Virat Kohli has taken 9 international wickets so far and let’s take a look at our own “quick bowler’s” best performance in bowling:

1. Kevin Pietersen: Virat Kohli claimed his first international wicket by dismissing English all-rounder Kevin Pietersen in a T20 match between India and England in 2011.

2. Alastair Cook: Kohli struck during a crucial partnership between Cook and Jonathan Trott, dismissing Cook on the fourth ball of his over, breaking the stand.

3. Craig Kieswetter: Virat’s third international wicket came against England, when he dismissed Craig Kieswetter in an ODI match.

4. Brendon McCullum: Virat’s fourth international wicket is of the legendary wickterkeeper Kiwi batsman. In a heated contest, Kohli took the wicket of New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum, who had hit him for a six earlier in the over. Kohli got McCullum out on the fifth ball, turning the tide.

5. Quinton De Kock: Virat’s fifth wicket is of the recently-retired South African legendary opener, Quinton De Kock, which he took in an ODI match against South Africa. After being hit for a six, Kohli responded by dismissing the South African opener on the very next ball.

6. Samit Patel: Virat’s sixth wicket is of former English all-rounder Samit Patel, whom he got out in an ODI match against England. Details about this particular wicket are less known, but it adds to Kohli’s list of surprise dismissals.

7. Mohammad Hafeez: Virat’s seventh wicket came against Pakistan in the 2012 T20 World Cup, when he dismissed Mohammmad Hafeez.

8. Johnson Charles: Kohli stepped in when other bowlers were struggling, taking the wicket of the West Indies’ Charles with the first ball of his over, demonstrating his knack for breaking partnerships.

9. Scott Edwards: Virat’s latest international wicket came against Netherlands at the ODI World Cup 2023, when he dismissed the Dutch skipper Scott Edwards.
