Pakistan faces practice challenges ahead of IND vs PAK T20 World Cup clash
Pakistan has a chance for redemption against India on June 9 in New York, after their disappointing performance against the USA in Dallas.
However, the odds seem to be stacked against them, with the Nassau County Stadium, the venue for the IND vs PAK match, undergoing pitch improvements.
The unexpected loss against the USA team marks one of the toughest starts for Pakistan in the ICC tournament. Facing their formidable rivals, India, on June 8 will be crucial for Pakistan’s fate. Another loss could push them to the brink of elimination.
According to the local reporters, Pakistan will not be able to practice at Nassau County Stadium before the match against India. Instead, the team will practice at Cantiague Park in New York from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm local time. India will practice at the same venue, but they are already familiar with the ground, having played there before.
Despite no official complaints from teams, it’s clear that Nassau County Stadium is currently unfit for play. Issues arose after the IND vs IRE match, where Rohit Sharma was hit on the arm and Harry Tector was hit on the helmet by Jasprit Bumrah.
The ICC responded by taking action to make the pitch playable. They stated, “The pitches at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium have not played as consistently as we would have wanted. Our grounds team is working hard to deliver the best possible surfaces for the remaining matches.”
As Pakistan gears up for the high-stakes match against India, the team faces numerous challenges, from fatigue to limited practice opportunities
