India opts for off-field training session ahead of rain-threatened match against Canada

The Indian cricket team chose a gym session over outdoor training on Friday ahead of their clash with Canada, likely due to rain in Florida. With their final group stage match in Lauderhill under threat from rain, the Men in Blue adapted their preparations. India has already secured a spot in the Super 8 stage of the tournament.

A practice session could have been beneficial for some players, especially batting star Virat Kohli, who has struggled with his form in the tournament so far. Kohli missed the warm-up game against Bangladesh due to his late arrival in the USA and has since faced difficulties.

In India’s first group stage game against Ireland, Kohli was dismissed for just one run. His performance slightly improved in the match against Pakistan, where he scored four runs, but he was then dismissed for a golden duck against the USA.

As the team gears up for the Super 8 stage, Kohli’s return to form will be crucial. The gym session, while not a substitute for practice on the field, provided an opportunity for the players to maintain their fitness and focus ahead of the upcoming challenges.
