India has won the toss and opted to bowl first against Australia in the third Test of the five-match series at The Gabba, Brisbane. Rohit Sharma’s decision comes with overcast conditions and a greenish pitch, aiming to exploit early movement and bounce on Saturday.

Australia, led by Pat Cummins, has had a mixed run at The Gabba in recent times, including their historic loss to India in 2021. Although the pitch curator has promised Gabba’s traditional pace and bounce, India’s bowling unit will look to seize the early advantage.

  • India: Ravindra Jadeja and debutant Akash Deep replace Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshit Rana.
  • Australia: Josh Hazlewood returns to the lineup, replacing Scott Boland.
