The 33-year-old fast bowler had missed the second Test at Adelaide Oval due to injury. In his absence, Scott Boland stepped in and delivered an impressive performance, taking 5 wickets in the match. However, Hazlewood’s experience and track record have earned him a place in the XI for the crucial Test.
Australian captain Pat Cummins confirmed Hazlewood’s inclusion, expressing confidence in the pacer’s fitness.
“He’s had no hiccups,” Cummins told reporters on Friday.
“He had a really good bowl yesterday, and another in Adelaide a couple of days previously. Both he and the medical team are really confident.”
