As the India cricket team prepares for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, new bowling coach Morne Morkel has begun his role with the squad. This series will also see the return of pacer Jasprit Bumrah for the first time since the T20 World Cup.
In the preparatory camp in Chennai, Morkel has been working closely with Bumrah, who was seen participating in light fitness drills and having discussions with the new coach. Meanwhile, Yash Dayal had a demanding training session under the watchful eyes of both Morkel and head coach Gautam Gambhir. The session was designed to prepare Dayal for the challenges of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Morkel, who previously worked with Gambhir at the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, is now bringing his expertise to the Indian team. He replaces Paras Mhambrey, who was previously in the role. The upcoming series marks the beginning of a new coaching era for India, with fresh faces in key support roles.
