Rohit Sharma heads to Sri Lanka for ODI Series

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, has departed for Sri Lanka ahead of the upcoming three-match ODI series set to begin on August 2. Sharma’s arrival follows his recent vacation and comes in the wake of a decision by team management, led by Gautam Gambhir, to include both him and Virat Kohli in the squad for the series.

This ODI series marks an important opportunity for Sharma, Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer to return to 50-over cricket, having not played in this format since last year. With only six ODIs scheduled before the Champions Trophy, their participation is crucial for India’s preparation.

Currently, nine members of India’s 15-player squad are already in Sri Lanka, including KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav, who joined the team recently. Along with Sharma, Kohli and Iyer are expected to arrive soon, ensuring the full squad will be present in time for the series.
