T20 World Cup 2024: Azam Khan gets into verbal fight with fans in USA
Azam Khan failed to score in the match against the USA at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas during the T20 World Cup 2024.
Batting first, Pakistan lost early wickets but found stability through a partnership between Babar Azam and Shadab Khan. The duo looked strong until Nosthush Kenjige’s return in the 10th over changed the game.
Kenjige dismissed Shadab for 40 runs off 25 balls and then bowled to Azam Khan on the very next delivery. Azam misjudged the ball, which hit his pads.
Pakistani fans in stadium shouted "Mota haathi" at azam khan upon which he got furious. pic.twitter.com/ocSgepJ5fX

Following a strong appeal, the umpire gave him out. Despite consulting with skipper Babar Azam and opting for a review, the decision stood as the DRS replay confirmed the umpire’s call. Azam Khan had to walk back to the pavilion for a golden duck.
