India’s new head coach, Gautam Gambhir, commended the team’s performance under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy in the recent T20I series victory against Sri Lanka. However, he also emphasized the importance of maintaining fitness levels, particularly for players who will be on a break before the upcoming series against Bangladesh.

Gambhir highlighted the need for players to stay in shape, stressing that they should not assume they can simply turn up for the next series without adequate preparation. “Make sure you come back fit for the Bangladesh series. You can take a break, you deserve it. But more importantly, keep your fitness levels and skills high for the series,” Gambhir advised the players.
Hardik Pandya Praises Suryakumar Yadav and Bowlers
Former vice-captain Hardik Pandya, who did not captain the side for this series, praised the contributions of bowlers Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi. He noted their all-round performances were crucial to India’s series win. Pandya also lauded Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy, calling it brilliant and highlighting his effective use of bowlers throughout the series.
