Good for TRPs: BCCI head coach Gautam Gambhir shuts down speculation on relation with Virat Kohli
Gautam Gambhir has addressed ongoing speculation about his relationship with Virat Kohli, describing it as “good for TRPs.” The two cricketers have had their share of on-field disagreements, particularly in the IPL. However, during the last season, they reconciled with a handshake and hug after a match between RCB and KKR.
In a recent press conference, Gambhir highlighted his positive relationship with Kohli, calling him a “thorough professional” and a “world-class batter.” He expressed eagerness to collaborate with Kohli for the advancement of Indian cricket.
Gambhir emphasized that their relationship is private and not a topic for media sensationalism. “We need to be on the same page when on the field. Our job is to make the country proud as we represent over a billion people,” he said.
The two have shared many successful moments together, including Gambhir’s gesture of giving his Player of the Match award to Kohli in 2009 after Kohli’s first ODI century.
India’s tour of Sri Lanka is set to begin on June 27, featuring a three-match T20I series followed by an ODI series.
